According to the Notice on the Selection of Topics for the 2022 National Social Science Fund Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project, eligible teachers are requested to actively apply. The relevant matters of project application are hereby notified as follows:

Before 4:30 PM, May 20, 2022, the Summary of Selected Topics (see the attachment for details) and the scanned copies of the cover, back cover, catalog and copyright page of the original work should be submitted to the Social Science Center in the school. At the same time, copies of paper materials (4 copies) and one original work (the original work can be degraded) will be sent to 541, North Building of Administration Building, as a unit of the school, for expert demonstration and screening in the school (the application limit of our school is 10 books, and each book does not exceed 3 versions).

In order to further improve the work of the Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project of the National Social Science Foundation, we are now collecting topics for the 2022 Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project from domestic publishing units, key universities and research institutions, national social science academic societies and experts and scholars. Notice of relevant matters is as follows:


1. Project purpose. The Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project mainly supports academic masterpieces that represent Chinese academic standards, reflect the essence of Chinese culture, and reflect the frontier of Chinese scholarship, which are published in foreign languages by authoritative publishing institutions abroad and enter mainstream distribution and communication channels abroad, with the aim of giving full play to the exemplary and guiding role of the National Social Science Fund, deepening academic exchanges and dialogues between China and foreign countries, and further expanding the international influence of Chinese academics. We will promote exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.


2. Basic requirements. The topic selection of the Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project should adhere to the correct orientation, represent the research level of Chinese philosophy and social sciences, and focus on subsidizing the translation and publication of outstanding achievements in contemporary Chinese philosophy and social sciences, famous classics from modern times, and excellent achievements of National Social Science Fund projects, mainly in English, French, Russian, Arabic, Spanish and other editions, covering 26 disciplines. Recommended topics please indicate the subject, the content of multi-disciplinary research, choose the main subject. The topic selection should avoid duplication of academic achievements that have been translated abroad, such as the Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project of the National Social Science Foundation, the "Chinese Books Overseas Promotion Plan", the "Classic China International Publishing Project", the "Chinese Cultural Works Foreign Translation and Publishing Project", and the Silk Road Book Project.


3. Topic content.  Research on contemporary Chinese economic, political, cultural, legal, social and other realistic issues and reflect the outstanding achievements of the development of philosophy and social sciences; Research on excellent traditional Chinese culture with excellent results of external dissemination value; Studying issues of common concern to all countries in the world, in particular, is conducive to promoting exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations.


4. Recommendation requirements. This year, the collection of selected topics is divided into unit recommendations and personal recommendations. Each unit recommends no more than 10 kinds of books, and no more than 3 versions of each book; Each expert and scholar recommends no more than 1 book, and no more than 2 editions of each book. Publishing institutions and scientific research institutions should attach great importance to the recommendation of topic selection, give full play to their own advantages, strengthen the joint study of Chinese and foreign compilation, organize experts and scholars to fully demonstrate, and ensure that the recommended topic represents the high-level level of the relevant field. Recommended topic selection units and experts and scholars should strengthen liaison with foreign publishing institutions, and expand the overseas promotion and distribution channels of excellent results. Our office will organize experts to evaluate the selected topics and determine the list of selected topics for the 2022 National Social Science Foundation Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project.


5. Submission method. The Chinese Academic Foreign Translation Project collects selected topics through the National Social Science Foundation Research Innovation service management platform. The solicitation system is open from May 15 to May 31, during which all units and experts and scholars can log in to the platform's "selection" plate, register and log in with real name information, fill in the complete recommendation information according to the form listed on the platform, and each unit can only designate one person in charge to submit the unit's recommendation information. Overdue system automatically closed, no longer accept the topic recommendation.


The home page of the National Social Science Foundation's scientific Research Innovation service management platform "China Academic Foreign Translation Project Selection Collection System" is the only network platform for this selection collection, and the selection recommendation method and process management are subject to this system.
